Grill

Use a wood or pellet grill where you can preferably get direct and indirect heat. I prefer a pellet grill because it easy, convenient, and consistent and you get that smoke flavor! A pellet grill is easier than a stick burning grill as the temperature is controlled by the grill.

  1. I use a Cookshack Fast Eddie’s PG500 pellet grill for temperature control with a direct and (2) indirect cooking areas. I have had this grill for almost 15 years, and use it year round, and I shovel a path to it in the winter!

  2. Others pellet grills:

Maintainence

Protection

  1. When not in use, keep your grill covered.

  2. To protect the grill and allow rain or shine (or snow) cooking year-round, I added a Saxony Grill Gazebo.

Cleaning

  1. Outside of keeping the grill and shelves clean, I will completely clean the the grill; grates, empty the ashes, the exterior surfaces with a grill grate cleaner and use a stainless steel cleaner on the the stainless. A magic eraser also works well on rough areas.

  2. I also will clean out the pellet box, auger, and smoke box occasionally.

  3. Seasoning your grates is also a good practice.
